Be Kind Birmingham collects only the information needed to review requests, coordinate referrals, communicate with participants and meet legitimate program requirements.

How information is used

Information submitted through an assistance request or partner referral is used to understand the request, contact the people listed, coordinate potential support and document program activity when required.

What not to send

Do not send Social Security numbers, bank information, full medical records, detailed trauma histories or other highly sensitive information through email or website forms.

Consent and stories

Participation is voluntary. No one is required to share a story, be photographed or provide a testimonial to receive assistance. Photos and public stories require permission.

Emergencies

Email and website requests are not monitored for emergencies. Call 911 for immediate danger or 988 for suicide and crisis support.
